So, where was I from last time? Ahh, yes...so several years had passed, with some pretty bizarre/fun/scary/boring/exciting events in between that may or may not include college and more Southwest flights to Burbank than I can remember. More on all of that later.
It was 2005, and besides running my small record label, I was mastering CDs for indie bands, freelancing music reviews, and composing jingles, videogame music, and anything else I could. Jacqueline of All Trades, making all of the gear I'd rescued from undeserving store shelves over the years earn its keep.
One day I answered an ad for an audio editor. And, as the story goes, it changed my life...or changed it back. Or helped me skip to a different parallel universe? All the same.
A fellow by the name of Dr. Dov Baron, who specialized in Quantum Resonance needed some assitance organizing some of his live seminar recordings into CD program form. It just so happened that the months I'd spend under headphones re-learning about the Law of Attraction, the Quantum Resonant Field, Polypeptide Chains and Neuroscience and all of that good stuff would start to reprogram (or deprogram) me for changes I wasn't anticipating (some of the ones that I was, too). And he spoke my language with no airy-fairy bullshit. The Dalai Lama wouldn't argue with him. Just what my skeptical brain needed to get back to True North, when I'd lost faith in most things that had lead me.
I'd continue working with Dov on several more projects, and I remain a huge fan of his work. I don't endorse anyone easily, and even though I really love Quantum Physics, Neuroscience, Science of Mind, and Law of Attraction-oriented study, it's not like any of those fields are without their charlatans. He's not one. He's got some pretty amazing pictures illustrating what he's been through when you sign up for some free videos he's offering. And I get nothing for telling you that other than a little happiness for doing it.
But how did this affect my music? I ended up in a state of expansion. My studio...my home...my life...got bigger. I'd already manifested a few pretty crazy things in my life before all of this. Shows I have no idea how I booked, other than just wanting to. Experiences that were completely, randomly wonderful. This stuff worked, whether you planned it or not.
But Wendy here didn't realize Peter Pan was about to take her on the biggest adventure yet, from the outside in. Realizing a lot of things I'd written off were once again possible changed my goal planning. And knowing the pen and paper were in my hands was exhilarating...and paralyzing.
I had one more step to take before I really got a clear vision of where this was all going to lead.
Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.
